      <image:caption>Paula Pando, Ed.D, is the president of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, VA. Reynolds is the youngest, and third largest community college in the Commonwealth of Virginia, serving the greater Richmond area, enrolling over 15,000 students at three campuses, with one additional site to open in 2020. She is the proud daughter of immigrants, is fluent in both Spanish and English, and has a profound commitment to educational opportunity and equity. Prior to her role as president of Reynolds, Dr. Pando served as the Senior Vice President for Student and Educational Services at Hudson County Community College in New Jersey, where she spent nearly sixteen years of her career. She began her career at Saint Peter’s University, also in New Jersey, in the Student Affairs Division. Dr. Pando is a frequent guest lecturer in higher education programs at both the master’s and doctoral levels. She currently serves on the board of directors for Chamber RVA and the Valentine Museum. She is member of the General and Professional Advisory Committee to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and also serves on the Council of Presidents. Dr. Pando’s strong student advocacy and contributions to the field of higher education have been recognized at the local, state and national levels. In 2017, she was one of 38 community college leaders selected from across the country as an Aspen Presidential Fellow. She lives with her husband Eric, and has three college-age children.</image:caption>

In this role, Albert builds bridges with grantee and community partners and ensures the Foundation lives into the recommendations of its Equity + Health Fellows. For Albert, his current position is the perfect culmination of more than 18 years of working at the intersection of community and health equity. This journey began at Charity Family Life, a non-profit founded by his parents. He later went on to serve as Community-Academic Liaison at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Center on Society and Health and as Director of Healthy Communities for Bon Secours Richmond Health System. Albert is a 2019 Fulcrum Fellow at the Center for Community Investment where he is deepening his expertise in participatory budgeting and deployment of capital in communities. Albert is passionate about reimagining neighborhoods and cities in a way that improves the social determinants of health for all. He believes doing so requires acknowledging our history, engaging those with lived expertise, and exploring innovative solutions to today’s challenges. When he’s not working, Albert enjoys walking his two rescue dogs or visiting the farmer’s market with his wife, Jameca, and daughter, Jasmine. Her career began in 1973 at the Philadelphia Family Court where she helped develop an extensive volunteer program. For 14 years she worked at the Virginia Office of Volunteerism, eventually becoming director. From 1997 to 2003 she served as executive director of the international Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA). From 2006-2016 Katie served as Executive Director of the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA), managing professional credentialing programs for leaders of volunteers. She has taught at several Virginia colleges, and holds the Certified in Volunteer Administration credential. Katie is currently working part-time as an independent consultant and manages the local Service Enterprise program with HandsOn Greater Richmond.</image:caption>

She also serves as a Community Advocate for Peter Paul Development Center in their Community Engagement Department where she works with the Strengthening Families Program aimed at helping to strengthen families residing in the East End. Chimere has since gone on to conduct numerous research studies of Social Determinants that directly impact one’s health.Chimere is passionate about opportunities for children and has volunteered with many groups and organizations, including Richmond Public Schools Early Head Start/ Head Start as the Policy Council Chairperson, the Richmond Public School Truancy Committee, and Richmond Promise Neighborhood. She also serves as a co-convenor for the Peter Paul Health &amp; Wellness Community Action Network.       <image:caption>Reginald E. Gordonis Richmond Virginia’s Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO) for the city of Richmond . In this position he manages the Human Services portfolio which includes the departments of Social Services, Justice Services, Parks Recreation and Community Facilities, and the Office of Community Wealth Building. Additionally, his office serves as the liaison to the Richmond City Health District, the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority and the Richmond Public Library. Mr. Gordon accepted this position in November 2018. Mr. Gordon began his career with the city of Richmond as director of the Office of Community Wealth Building in June 2016 where he was responsible for leading the citywide effort and action plan for a comprehensive poverty reduction strategy. With more than 20 years in the human services field, Mr. Gordon has dedicated his life to improving the overall quality of life of service populations. His professional career started as an attorney for Central Virginia Legal Aid in Emporia, Virginia. Following that, he went on to work at the national Red Cross in Washington, D.C. as an in-house counsel biomedical attorney. While there, he worked his way up to Senior Associate General Counsel and the national Ethics Officer. In 1997, after returning to his hometown of Richmond, VA Gordon worked as a fund developer with the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg. A year later, he was selected as the first executive director of Homeward, the coordinating organization for homeless services in the Richmond Region. After seven years with Homeward, he became the executive director of William Byrd Community House, a multi-service poverty prevention agency, addressing the needs of low income children, families, seniors and single adults in the city of Richmond. In July of 2007, he became the Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross. In this role, his territory expanded and upon his departure in June of 2016 he was responsible for Red Cross operations throughout the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. He is a past chair of the board for Leadership Metro Richmond. He is currently on the board of Richmond Memorial Health Foundation, Richmond Opportunities, Inc., and the Virginia Resources Authority. He is a member of the Richmond Rotary. He is also a founding member of the Ujima Legacy Fund. He is also an assistant professor in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies at the University of Richmond. Mr. Gordon is a native of Richmond, Virginia and a proud alumnus of Richmond public schools. He received his undergraduate degree in Public Policy from Duke University. He received his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. He is married to Dr. Rashida Gray and the bonus dad for two teenagers.■</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Marco is a native of Northside RVA and a product of Richmond Public School system. His passion for Social Justice and second chances stems from the trials of his own lived experiences. He started his journey in community engagement as a member of the Engaging Richmond Research team. After successfully completing Richmond Peace Education Center’s (RPEC) Healing and Rebuilding Our Communities trauma training (HROC), he returned to take the Training for Trainers and became a HROC facilitator. Marco learned to conduct Restorative Circles with Restorative Youth Services of Virginia, and before coming to ROI, worked for the VUU Upward Bound program, where he taught and inspired first generation, low income RPS high schoolers to fulfill their desire to obtain a college education. Having just obtained his own Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Virginia State University this past December, Marco desires to be an encouragement for anyone that thinks life has pasted them by, and a voice of hope for those that think their past disqualifies them from having a successful future.</image:caption>

Before coming to the Foundation, Christina worked for the Office of Community Wealth Building managing operations, communications and outreach. A natural system builder, Christina thrives as a connector between community members and organizations to create lasting, positive change. Ebony is an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University where she teaches a class on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the City. She is also on the faculty of Initiative of Change’s Community Trustbuilding Fellowship, a program that develops the capacity of community leaders to overcome divisions of race and politics.       <image:caption>Kristen Kaplan has spent the past 20 years working and volunteering on behalf of the nonprofit sector. She currently serves as Senior Manager for the Community Relations team at CarMax where she leads The CarMax Foundation, as well as the company’s national disaster response program. Prior to joining CarMax in 2013, Kristen worked for the Office of the Governor of Virginia, ConnectRichmond, VCU and Conservation International. Kristen completed her master’s degree in Public Administration at VCU with a concentration in nonprofit management and holds a bachelor’s degree from JMU. In 2005, she co-founded HandsOn RVA, was a Style Weekly “Top 40 Under 40&amp;quot; recipient and received Leadership Metro Richmond’s Servant Leadership Award in 2016. She resides in Midlothian, VA with her husband, Rob, and their four children.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Sally Graham is the executive director of GoochlandCares. Sally received her undergraduate degree from UVA, her masters’ degree from the University of Rochester and her nurse practitioner postmasters from the University of Colorado. Sally was involved in founding the Free Clinic and has served as ED for the past twenty years. In that role, she guided the organization through a merger with a social service nonprofit in the community to become GoochlandCares. She has fostered the organization’s growth from part-time medical and dental programs to a full spectrum basic human needs provider focusing on health, housing, and hunger, thus expanding the definition of health to include the many social determinants that impact well-being. Her previous experience working in safety net settings provides a strong basis for her innovative approach to free clinic work.</image:caption>

From 2009-2016 she co-chaired Imagining America’s initiative on “Assessing the Practices of Public Scholarship,” which explores and advances assessment practices aligned with the values that drive community-engaged work. She is committed to co-creating opportunities for transformative liberal arts learning far beyond traditional institutional boundaries, and has published on innovative assessment, engaged graduate education, and the power of institutional intermediaries to effect change.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Hannah Wittwer has been has been working in agriculture for nearly 10 years on both for-profit and non-profit farms. Originally from NY, she earned her Master of Science in childhood education and NYS teaching certification in 2015, and was thrilled to join Shalom Farms in 2016 after relocating to Richmond. As the Volunteer and Education Manager, she gets to combine her love of teaching and farming by facilitating exciting learning and working experiences on Shalom’s 12-acre, Powhatan farm site. She hopes to contribute to a more just food system by supporting the development of positive attitudes towards sustainable agriculture, and building community around healthy food.</image:caption>

In 2005, Dr. Porter completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at U.Va. with an emphasis on community psychology. She is a licensed, clinical psychologist. Maryfrances brings over 20 years of experience in research and using data in leading local change initiatives across a wide range of service providers. She has expertise in evaluating public service systems across sectors (including working with courts, school districts and local governments), as well as in assessing system and individual opportunities for growth and change, developing strategic vision and action, and facilitating collaborative, strengths-based problem solving across diverse groups.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Tiffany Hall Terry is the Director of Community Engagement at CARITAS. Tiffany grew up living in and traveling to many different states and countries, which allowed her to encounter many different cultures and has influenced how she approaches community engagement. She studied sociology and applied research at Baylor University before moving to Richmond, VA where she graduated from The School of Theology at Virginia Union with a Masters of Divinity. After seminary, she served as the program director for The Micah Initiative, which connected more than 100 faith communities to Richmond Public Elementary Schools as volunteers. Passionate about working with individuals and groups to actualize visions that benefit the community, her move to CARITAS was a natural fit. In her current role, Tiffany helps to organize thousands of volunteers every year. She has been recognized as one of the emerging leaders in the non-profit sector of Richmond. On a personal note Tiffany treasures her time with her husband, Andrew, and her two-year old son, Langston. She serves on the board of Blue Sky Fund and enjoys attending local festivals, dancing and dessert.</image:caption>
